Recipe Notes

This version is very “plain” in flavor so that it can be turned into anything!

Optional Additions to this Simple Bone Broth Recipe

Add vegetable scraps from another meal to add more nutrients (ex: carrot peels, tops of celery, or whatever may be leftover), fresh or dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, oregano, ginger, etc.), mushrooms, seaweed, eggshells (added calcium), or other superfoods (goji berries, calendula flowers, curry). Please keep in mind that if the optional ingredients are added that they will change the flavor and you may be limited to specific recipes.

If you would like to make a different quantity than the recipe listed above, use the ratio of one pound of bones to one quart of water, with one teaspoon of salt and one-half tablespoon of vinegar per pound of bones.
