HOW DOES YOUR NUTRITION PROGRAM WORK?
In our first session, we’ll spend an hour together and I’ll do a full assessment to really get to know you. We’ll explore your relationship with food and your body image, your diet history, eating patterns, health habits and more. We will talk about your goals and develop a plan to help you reach them.
Behavior change doesn’t happen overnight – it takes commitment and support to develop a healthy relationship with food and exercise. I’ll be there for ongoing support and accountability as you make health and nutrition changes.
After the initial session, we’ll meet twice a month via video chat or phone call. You can also text or email the Natural Health Practices office anytime between sessions for additional support.
HOW CAN A NUTRITION COACH HELP ME?
Our goal is to help you ditch the diets that don’t work and learn to eat normally, while building long-term, sustainable health practices.
We will help you cultivate a healthy relationship with food while learning how to take care of yourself in all aspects of health including stress, sleep, and exercise.
We will help you take control of your health through proper dietary habits, break the cycle of yo-yo dieting, heal your relationship with food, and learn to love your body.
WILL A NUTRITION COACHING PROGRAM WORK FOR ME?
If you’re just looking for a diet plan, then this program is not for you. This is not a diet. Not only do diets not work because you’re either “on” them or “off” them, but most people end up blaming themselves for not sticking to the plan. This ultimately worsens your relationship with food.
This nutrition program is different. We will help you break free from the cycle of dieting and make peace with food once-and-for-all. This program will change your mindset about food, helping to improve your overall health for years to come!
WILL I LOSE WEIGHT?
While many of our patients come to us looking to lose weight, however this is not the main focus or goal initially. Your body first requires sufficient nutrients from real food before weight loss occurs. If you have nutritional deficiencies or insufficiencies, we must address those before we address weight loss. We will certainly talk about your desire to change your weight, but we will not be using your weight as the only indicator of success or progress.
If you have been eating for emotional reasons or if you’ve gone through a lifestyle change that caused weight gain, it’s likely that you’re not at your healthy weight right now. As we work together and your body begins to heal, your weight will likely normalize.
I'M REALLY BUSY. HOW WILL I FIND THE TIME?
There’s never going to be a time where life suddenly gets easier. In fact, you may never find the time to do a nutrition program like this. That’s why you need to make time.
Being busy should not be a reason for you to neglect your health. You either choose to make time now for your health or you’ll be forced to make time later for sickness. Many of our patients are busy professionals, moms with days that are non-stop, or people who are constantly traveling.
We require the smallest time commitment from you that is possible while still achieving the results you desire!
HOW LONG WILL THIS PROCESS TAKE?
It depends. Learning how to properly eat is the opposite of dieting. While dieting is easy at the beginning and gets harder (or impossible) as time goes on. Working with us can be much tougher up front. Remember, behavior change doesn’t happen overnight and it takes commitment and support to develop a healthy relationship with food and exercise.
We recommend a minimum of 6 months of coaching, however every patient is different. Some of our patients have changed their habits in less than 6 months while others have been on a coaching program for years. Everyone is different and each person requires a different level of accountability and counseling.
HOW MUCH DOES YOUR NUTRITION PROGRAM COST?
Fees vary based on your needs and what package you purchase. We offer monthly payment plans to make virtual nutrition coaching affordable for everyone. However, if you are interested in investing in your health upfront you will receive a 20% discount on the price of the program.
